Reminisce, born Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru on January 26, 1981, in Kaduna, Nigeria, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor known for his powerful lyrics and unique ability to rap in both English and Yoruba. Often referred to as “Alaga Ibile,” he is celebrated for his contributions to Nigerian hip-hop and Afrobeat, blending indigenous Nigerian sounds with contemporary hip-hop elements. Reminisce started his music career in the early 2000s, but he gained widespread attention with the release of his debut album Book of Rap Stories in 2012, which featured popular tracks like “Kako Bii Chicken.” His follow-up albums, including Alaga Ibile 2013 and Baba Hafusa 2015, cemented his position in the industry and brought hits like “Daddy” and “Tesojue,” making him a household name in Nigerian music. Known for his gritty, street-inspired lyrics and engaging storytelling, Reminisce has collaborated with some of Nigeria's biggest artists, including Wizkid, Olamide, and Davido. He has also ventured into acting, appearing in movies like King of Boys, where his performance earned critical acclaim.
