PnB Rock, born Rakim Hasheem Allen on December 9, 1991, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter known for blending hip hop with melodic R&B. PnB Rock rose to prominence with his hit single "Selfish" in 2016, which showcased his smooth, melodic style and earned him recognition within the hip hop and R&B communities. His musical influences were rooted in both rap and R&B, drawing inspiration from artists like Meek Mill, Wiz Khalifa, and Usher. He began his music career in the early 2010s, gaining local attention with mixtapes and collaborations before breaking into the mainstream. His debut studio album, TrapStar Turnt PopStar 2019, featured hits like "Middle Child" and solidified his place in the music scene. Tragically, PnB Rock was shot and killed on September 12, 2022, during a robbery at a Los Angeles restaurant. His death sent shockwaves through the music world, as he was seen as one of the most promising artists of his generation. Despite his untimely passing, PnB Rock's music continues to influence the hip hop and R&B genres.
