Nathi

Nathi, born Nkosinathi Mankayi, is a South African singer and guitarist from the Eastern Cape. Raised by a single mother alongside five siblings, he faced numerous challenges, including poverty. His life took a drastic turn in the early 2000s when he was involved in an armed robbery, leading to a prison sentence. During his time in prison, Nathi rediscovered his love for music, forming a choir that gave him hope and purpose. After his release, he pursued music seriously, winning local talent competitions and eventually recording his debut album Buyelekhaya in 2015. The album became a phenomenal success, going platinum within six weeks of its release. It featured the hit single "Nomvula," which dominated South African radio charts and cemented his status as one of the country's leading musical talents. His music, characterized by heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies, continues to resonate with fans across Africa and beyond.
