Nana Ama

Nana Ama, born Nana Ama Adadziewaa in Accra, Ghana, is a highly regarded Ghanaian vocalist, composer, and entrepreneur. She began her music career in the late 1990s, starting with radio jingles and voiceovers before establishing herself as a prominent backing vocalist. Throughout her career, she has worked with numerous notable artists such as Luciano, Zapp Mallet, Kojo Antwi, Obrafour, and Lord Kenya. Nana Ama is particularly celebrated for her silky choruses and vocal contributions to major hits like Okomfour Kwaadee’s Abro Ne Bayie and Buk Bak's Klu Blofo. In addition to her work as a vocalist, Nana Ama has made significant contributions to the Ghanaian music scene, advocating for the recognition of backing vocalists. She has also been involved in various international projects, such as the 2006 FIFA World Cup Black Stars song and the 2008 Barack Obama song. Nana Ama is also a member of the Playing For Change Foundation, working as a music teacher at Bizung School of Music in Tamale, Ghana.
