Flume, born Harley Edward Streten on November 5, 1991, in Sydney, Australia, is a highly influential DJ, record producer, and musician. He began his musical journey at the age of 11, initially composing music on his computer. Flume first gained attention in 2011 with his breakthrough song "Possum," which led to his signing by the Australian record label Future Classic. His self-titled debut album, released in 2012, included hits like "Holdin On" and earned critical acclaim. Flume’s second album, Skin (2016), brought him global recognition, with tracks like "Never Be Like You" and "Say It" featuring artists like Kai and Tove Lo. The album won the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album, and "Never Be Like You" became a massive hit, topping Australia’s Triple J Hottest 100. Flume has also worked on numerous collaborations, including with Lorde and Vince Staples. His 2019 mixtape Hi This Is Flume marked another evolution in his style, mixing experimental sounds with his signature electronic production. Flume's innovative approach to electronic music and his unique sound have made him one of the leading figures in the genre. He has amassed numerous awards, including multiple ARIA Music Awards, and continues to push boundaries with his music.
