Darkoo
Darkoo, born Oluwafisayo Isa on September 19, 2001, in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria, is a British-Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter. She moved to the United Kingdom with her family at the age of 7 and grew up in South London. Darkoo began producing music at the age of 15, initially focusing on drill music before incorporating rap and vocals. She gained major recognition with her 2019 single "Gangsta," featuring British rapper One Acen, which became a viral hit and peaked at number 22 on the UK Official Singles Chart. Her 2020 single "Juicy," featuring Hardy Caprio, also performed well on the charts, and Darkoo continued to build her career with hits like "Always," a collaboration with Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif. Known for fusing Afrobeats with UK hip-hop influences, she has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Tion Wayne and Davido. Darkoo's work has earned her nominations at the MOBO Awards, including for Best Female Act and Song of the Year for "Gangsta." Darkoo is signed to Atlantic Records and is regarded as one of the rising stars in the UK's rap and Afrobeats scenes.
