Dagrin

Dagrin (1987-2010) was a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter who pioneered Nigerian hip-hop, blending Yoruba and English lyrics to address social issues, poverty, and street life. Born Olaitan Olaonipekun, he released his debut album "Still on the Matter" in 2009, featuring hits like "Pon Pon Pon" and "Kondo." Dagrin's authentic, raw energy and storytelling influenced artists like Olamide, Lil Kesh, and Small Doctor. Tragically, he died on April 22, 2010, after a car accident in Lagos, but his legacy lives on through his music and enduring impact on Nigerian entertainment.
